Meet Nicole and BEVD

President, Nicole Lachance, founded Bird’s Eye View Design in 2002. A life-long nature lover, she came from a family of gardeners, and learned from her Dad and grandfather growing up. She is a well-trained and experienced horticulturalist, with a bachelors degree from Virginia Tech, in addition she is a registered North Carolina landscape contractor and certified plant professional. After hiking the AT in 2000, where she loved discovering plants along the way, Nicole moved to Asheville and started her business soon after. With a 1994 pick up truck and a handful of tools, she went at it, and Bird’s Eye View Design was born.  

Currently Bird’s Eye View Design is serving the greater Asheville area with stunning  gardens and landscape design. They work largely with home owners, they also manicure cottage-style original homes in Biltmore village and their gardens have been featured on local garden tours. The talented team consistently offers up expert gardening and all crew leaders are certified plant professionals. Nicole’s motto with the team is, “do good work and have fun!”. It seems to work, as Bird’s Eye View Design is still thriving after 18 years.
